It's Sphere Break time! Wherever you come from to Luca, a scene will great you at the end of which you'll receive coins and the tournament will begin right away. If you don't remember the rules too clearly, or if you haven't played yet, you can learn/revise the rules with the kid standing by Shelinda and Rin on the stairs of the square
You need to win three games to advance to the final; on the other hand, lose three matches and you're out. Some players are easier to take on than others, which will be indicated by the number of stars that will appear in their profile when they offer you to play against them. Very easy targets are the girl standing by the save sphere at the Outskirts, just before the stairs that lead to Mi'ihen Road, the guy walking around at the Square and the guy sitting on the bridge. If you want, save in between each game, although those three people are really easy. However, I suggest not to win those three in a row. Instead, after one or two wins, go to the Square: there's a woman sitting alone with her dog on a bench at the Square. By playing against her, you can win the "White Signet" grid - just make sure that you include the coin with the "item" characteristic as soon as you can see one in a break, and the grid is yours. She's one tough opponent and it's very likely you'll lose the game against her. No problem, as long as you only lose that one. Find yourself other easy opponents until you have your three victories; also, don't forget to save before your second win - you're gonna find out why in a moment. Once that is done, a cut scene will lead you directly to the final, with a surprising opponent.....ok, maybe not that surprising, come to think about it!
This one is tough; however, how likely you are to actually win relies on luck. Indeed, your victory depends on your ability to line up enough combos. Unfortunately, more often than not, he will use a core sphere of 1, and you'll have to start building combos from scratch again. If that happens too often, you can kiss your victory goodbye. In that case, I strongly suggest reloading your game until you end up in one where he doesn't use it often enough to ruin your game. Why all the bother, you may ask? Well, at the end of the day, there's a dressphere and scenario % to win. Sure, you have one more chance to get the Lady Luck dressphere in Chapter 5, but then your chances to win are even slimer than they are during this tournament, so trust me, try to win it here....
There's one last thing to be won during this match - like you did against the woman on the bench at the Square, include the first coin you come across with the Item characteristic in a chain to win the "Treasure Hunt" grid
Once you've won, you'll see Yuna receive her prize - Lady Luck is yours! Not much left to do in Luca once the tournament is over though, except for the Campains and 3x Lunar Curtains to retrieve from a chest in the Outskirts, and that's about it. Shinra's commsphere is automatically set up just by stopping by in the city

Wherever you arrive from, you'll be presented with your new mission as soon as you enter the area: you must take down groups of machinas that have started attacking people. There are 13 such groups in all, scattered around the whole area, and which are represented by green squares on your map. Moreover, a group of Al-bheds are also taking care of these machinas, and you're in direct competition with them: take out more than half of the machinas groups, namely 7, and you'll be awarded some cool items
You have more chances to score big points by starting either arriving from Luca or beaming down from the Celsius at Rin's Agency, but honestly, you should be able to get rid of 7 or more groups of machinas starting from anywhere, as long as you stay focus on this mission and don't stop looting chests or talking to people on the road. The only thing you must make sure you do during this mission is to destroy the group of machinas on your way to the north end of the Highroad (which is the screen from where you can access Mushroom Road; the machina aren't on the road itself, so you need to approach the edge and jump down)
Once all 13 groups have been destroyed, and if you have scored 7 or more, you'll receive 10,000 gils and the "Undying Storm" grid. Now you can go back to the Highroad - northern newroad area; where you had to jump down to get that extra group of machina, you'll see now Shinra standing. Talk to him this will have an influence at a later stage of the game
You're all done with the tasks you needed to complete here. You can as usual talk to people for the campains, as well as retreive the items listed above in the various chests on the road. Once this is done continue ahead: there are no missions expecting you in the first areas that follow, but they all award you scenario % as well as a few items, so do not overlook them! Also, this is the occasion to meet enemies you didn't have the chance to encounter in the first two chapters for level up, gils and items
Mushroom Road

Most of the area isn't accessible during this chapter. Still, whether you reach it from Mi'ihen or from the Celsius, you'll see Shinra in front of you, a commsphere in hand. Follow him: he'll set it just in front of the entrance to the area of the ravine path, then take it off and will run past a group of Youth League members and machinas that guard the entrance of the area - the reason why you can't go any further! Still, follow him as this will trigger a scene that will increase your scenario % some, before continuing your merry way towards Djose Temple - don't forget to visit the area with the stone lift on the left for 2000 gils in a chest
Djose Temple

Thanks: to Uluviel for the video Only visit Djose Temple after having been to Mushroom Road - you'll be treated to a scene with Gippel that counts towards your scenario % as well as an Al Bhed Primer. There are also 3x Hi-Potion in a chest on the way to leads to the Temple area and 3x Phoenix Down in the chest on the right of the save sphere
Moonflow

There are no items here for you, but you should still visit. On the south bank is a concert and a few people in attendance. Talk to Tobli twice; you'll also see Shinra set up a commsphere in the same area
Guadosalam

Go to the chateau; before entering it, try to enter the first door on the left - it will trigger a scene (but you can't enter yet). Now go inside the chateau: there are several scenes that will add to your scenario % and spheres to get. Head first for the living-room and you'll get a scene with Ormi and Logos. Head then for the first floor and talk to Lebland, before going back downstairs and into the secret area (although you're now on friendly grounds, enemies still roam that part, so be on your guards). Go to the room on the right where you'll be joined by Logos. You'll watch and receive Logos' Sphere, Ormi's Sphere and the Gaol's Sphere. Enters Maechen -as usual, go to him and let him explain everything he wants to you until he exits the place
Two more items to get are in another room: go all the way back to the save sphere, then go west - there's a circular room with a chest containing a Tetra Band. There's also a Crimson Sphere 4 that's a little more tricky to get. From where Yuna stands when she enters the room, you can see some box against the wall. Climb there, then once more and go all the way around the room until you get to another chest which contains the sphere. You can now exit Guadosalam. Shinra's commsphere is automatically installed when you visit the area

There isn't much to do here, apart from a little level up (in that case, go rather to the northern plain, as this is where you'll find the monsters that will award you the most EXP). Shinra automatically installs his commsphere in the Southern Plain when you first go there. Your only important task is to go talk to Lian and Ayde (they are all the way north under the shelter all the way up north - there's a purple cross on the map to help you find them). When presented with a choice, you can go with whichever you want, as this has little impact on the story. You may also find Cid somewhere in the Southern Plain - have a chat with him. Finally, there's the calibrating towers game that you started in Chapter 2 and that you may not have finished yet: if you have enough patience, you can do so now....
